Ouch!

Yesterday, Addison was getting in and out of her chair and was very proud of herself until she fell out and landed on her face. Immediately her forehead had a HUGE bruise and within a few minutes, her nose and the inside of both eyes were bruised. I was convinced that she broke her nose. The pediatrician's office asked me a series of questions and from my answers determined that Addison may have a broken nose and most likely didn't have a concussion so there was no need to seek medical attention. I still wasn't so sure. Joe wanted to see her and I needed to get her some baby ibuprofen for the swelling so I stopped at his office. He did the light in the eye thing and said "yeah..I think she'll be ok". I still don't think I was completely convinced. The nurse also said that we needed to wake Addison every four hours during the night and make sure that she was able to wake up and recognize us. That made for a VERY tired morning!

I took these pictures last night when Addison was having dinner - about five hours after the fall. The swelling had already gone down so much you can hardly see that she even has a bruise (my photographic skills don't help either). Look very carefully over her right eye and you can see some greenish-yellow coloring. I thought for sure it would get much worse and that we wouldn't be able to leave the house with out being accused of beating our child.

Below is the picture that I took this morning. The bruise is almost totally gone except for a little bit across the bridge of her nose. If her nose is broken, it isn't crooked! We're crossing our fingers for an uninterrupted night of sleep tonight!

Run Ladies Run

Shawna, my best friend since 5th grade, and Kristen, a college friend, are running the Boston Marathon tomorrow. I think this is the third time these awesome ladies have run this marathon. I don't know if they ever read our blog but since it is WAY too late to call and wish them good luck, this will have to do.

YEAH Shawna and Kristen. GOOD LUCK and HAVE FUN!!

Happy Birthday Addison

Today we celebrated Addison's 1st birthday. I can't believe she's been here for a year already! The time has just flown by. I always thought if I was able to stay home and not work everyday I would be able to get so many projects done. I was sure wrong about that! Playing soccer and singing the ABC's takes up alot of time! It sure is fun though!

Here are some pictures from Addison's party.

Enjoying A Sunny Day

We were all outside enjoying the sunshine yesterday. The weatherman says that it is supposed to be 18 degrees tonight and tomorrow's high is 39 degrees. YUCK! Joe took advantage of the warm sunny day yesterday to mow the lawn. Addison enjoyed riding a lap with him she couldn't get enough of doing laps on the driveway! The sun bonnet kept getting in the way :) Joe just came in from covering my peach tree with a combination of bed sheets and plastic. He called it the redneck peach tree and said I better take a picture in the morning. I'm sure the neighbors will drive by and think "only in Terrebonne"! I sure hope that my delicate little peach tree doesn't get too cold. I've been looking forward to these peaches since we planted the tree last year!

Last week Addison brought home a little doll from the gym daycare. She wouldn't part with it. Grandma Carla found out and got Addison her very own doll for her birthday...she'll be very happy on Sunday!!

Firsts for Addison

With only a few days until Addison's first birthday, she has been very busy getting some "first" experiences.

This past weekend we visited her pony Jose' and while I was riding another horse, Addison got her very first pony ride. She wasn't very  happy about wearing a helmet and as soon as it was removed, she was so excited. She even got into "clicking" to tell her pony to go. She was all smiles and even protested a little when she was taken off the pony. Joe is not looking forward to having a horse-crazy daughter, but I guess it is in her genes! I think he'll give in with just a little persuasion.

Today, Addison and I joined a couple of moms and babies at the kiddie pool for Addison's very first swimming experience. She had a great time chewing on the rubber duckies and floating in the float tube.

All these firsts and I forgot to take my camera. So, you just have to image a very smiley Addison sitting proudly atop her pony. Then, image Addison trying to squirm her way out of my arms in the pool. She was only successful once - and got a big mouthful of water!

Addison's Newest Photos

A few weekends ago Uncle TJ was visiting and he brought along his camera for a little photo shoot. Maybe he didn't intend to take photos of Addison, but I always get a few before he leaves :) There are some very cute photos of Addison and our very first family photos. Too bad it only took a year for the three of us to get together for a photo!

Go to www.tjcameron.net. Click on Addison + Family and the password is addy. Click on Addison on the next page and then look at all the cute photos. The best way is to run the slideshow.

Enjoy!

THANKS TJ!!

Watch Out...Here Comes Addison!

Addison's new "car" is helping her to learn the art of walking. She has improved so much over the past few days. I took some great video but can't figure out how to get the video from the camera to the computer. These photos will just have to do! She cruises across the house and smacks into the wall. Then she just pushes as hard as she can in any direction to get the "car" to move. Whatever works!! She is very determined. If the "car" stops moving, she'll start pushing her high chair until it is stuck too.

Addison will be a year old in a little over a week. I'm sure she'll be toddling around on her own just in time for her birthday party!

Strolling on a Spring Day

Yesterday Addison and I went for a walk to enjoy the fresh spring air. It is still a little chilly in the mornings so I bundled her all up and put the weather cover on the stroller. It takes longer to get her dressed and in the stroller than our walk lasts. I couldn't resist taking this picture of Addison looking out of her plastic enclosure. She has her own little sauna in there! I guess she stayed warm enough during the walk. She was sound asleep when we got back home!
